17/05 Ash column now!
Meanwhile I am writing an ash column is rising up from Etna. Not so big but… what’s happening there in heights?
Thanks to Etna Trekking’s webcam it’s clear. It’s Sud Est flank which is opening again.
Is it prelude to a new phase of activity? I think so.

Looks very impressive, still today (18.05.08) there is ash emission from time to time at SEC and the new fracture.
Well well maybe it is time to by a ticket to Sicily again… 🙂

It seems that the eruption initiated on 13 May on the upper eastern flank of Etna has ended after little more than a week during the night of 20-21 May 2008.
A quanto pare, l’eruzione che ha avuto inizio il 13 maggio 2008 sull’alto fianco orientale dell’Etna, è finita dopo poco più di una settimana nella notte tra il 20 e il 21 maggio 2008.
