19/08 No more just a Pit!

Some friends (Ahti!) ask: “what is Pit crater?”.

Well, called Pit because it was just an hole on Sud-Est crater flank now it is a little promising crater itself.

In Boris Behncke photos you can see how Pit is growing up and needs a new name.

Ah, the huge “Bocca Nuova” has born in 1968 as a few meters wide pit on “Centrale” crater flank.

P.s I expected new activity yesterday but nothing happened. Has Etna run out of fireworks or is preparing something bigger?
