23/05 Etna eruption runs slow but runs

Before all sorry to Boris but his comment got lost due to a website update. Webmaster rewrote a comment from that he remebered by Boris words but Boris original comment has been lost between Avalon’s fogs.

Boris corrected his past comment telling that eruption was not totally stopped. There are yet some little explosions in Bottoniera and even a short lava river.

Effectively yesterday evening I could see explosions from Giarre but lava river is probably very short.

thanks for providing the correction to “Eruption finished” … even last night it still seemed to be a little bit alive. And congratulations for your new background image from our common friend Thomas Reichart!
Grazie di aver messo la correzione alla notizia dell'”eruzione finita” … anche ieri notte era ancora uno pochettino viva. E poi, complimenti per la nuova immagine di sfondo del nostro amico comune, Thomas Reichart!

Yesterday I could also observe some glow from the new fracture via Internet, but volcanic tremor is very low and so we are all looking what is happening next?!
Thanks for the update. On the one hand I’m sad not be see the lava and majestic Etna this month. On the other hand eruption really decreased. So maybe it is better to come next time ;-)!
I’m happy to see the photo as background, also I liked the previous also very much with the blue sky and the black cones.

Keep on the good work, see you next time,

    Thomas

    Hello everybody! 😀

I prefer new photo but enyway website engine is so powerful that I think I will change ‘Theme’ according to Etna events.

Snow in background in winter time, cones in normal times, red lava during eruptions and so on.

  • Boris says:

Yes, the idea to change the background according to the situation – winter, summer, eruption… – is quite ingenuous!
The latest INGV update of today reports ongoing lava flows down to 2000 m elevation and explosion noises audible at Monte Zoccolaro.
    Cheers everybody

Krabusch todays report is: strong noises before lunch with several explosions, a small lava river continues to flood down.

Thanks Boris for update, you miss a bit your old wonderful website, eh? 😉

  • Thomas Reichart says:

Very cool, you get all the eruption details here as well – and in the future also visible by changing background!
Next time I have to come when the Krabuschs are at your Hotel 😉 – they really seem to be an indicator for activity 🙂
